the best feeling in the world: putting on clothes straight from the dryer

the worst feeling in the world: cold feet

things i hate: waking up, going to sleep

things i love: staying up, staying asleep

brilliant invention idea i just came up with: alarm-clock-slash-IV-drip that will infuse 5 hour energy into your veins as the alarm goes off

5 thoughts in 15 minutes… i guess it’s time for me to sleep

“this sounded better in my head” music edition

PROLOGUE.

warning: listening to the black keys while driving is highly dangerous and should be avoided at all costs. it WILL make you go all fast five on everyone. trust me, i’m a pre-med.

ACT ONE. HOW MUSE ALMOST RUINED MY LIFE.

so shortly before i went to sleep one day, i decided to watch the music video for muse’s “uprising”. what gave me this sudden urge, i do not know. but as it was finished, i decided i was sufficiently azzed and went to bed. i knocked out instantly, and was deep in sleep until my phone rang at 3am… which turned out to be freakin danny asking me if i knew how much a pier fishing ticket costs. anyway, after hanging up, i close my eyes again to resume my glorious slumber, and i hear a familiar tune in my head. over. and over. again.

tttthheeyyyy willl nott conntrrooooollllll ussssss….

we willll be victorrriiioooousssssss..

oh god. this is the absolute worst song to fall asleep to. i felt like my neurons were blaring this song while staging a coup on my brain. when i reached the point where i was about to shove spoons in my ears, i decided to try and get the song out of my head by focusing on a new song. the one i chose? norah jones’ “don’t know why”, the perfect lullaby.

iiii… waited till i saw the sun….

i don’t know why i didn’t come…

my eyes started getting heavy, and my breathing slowed. i began thinking of faraway things in faraway places.

my hearttttt.. isss drenched in wineee…..

…….theyyyyy willl nott forrrrceeeeee uss…..

ARGHHHHH!!! even norah jones’ sultry disarming voice was no match. i wrestled with my brain for 3 hours before finally passing out in exhaustion.

unsurprisingly, i completely didn’t hear my alarm for my 9am lab meeting. i drove like vin diesel to work, sweating bawls and hoping i wasn’t gonna get chewed out by my boss. luckily, i was able to dodge all my superiors and survive the day.
